Happy holidays from us here at SaveOurShoes.
We are both here in London enjoying the festive season. I (Fiona) am going home for a flying visit back to Cork for Christmas and LuJain continues jetsetting with a trip to Barcelona.

News from my new London Life..
-I have been very busy. Hopefully all this busy-ness (as opposed to business) will be positive for me.
-I (finally) made it to SHOWStudio in Somerset house last week with my friend Kate. Personal favourites were the Hunting for Witches part, Gareth Pugh, the ID shoot going on with Nick Knight and drawing all over Naomi Campbell. Somerset house was also extremely festive with all the iceskating and fairy lights. Well worth a visit before SHOWStudio ends.

(There was a pane of glass between me and Giles Deacon. Kinda amazin'.)
-The lovely A&S from
DiscoNapLondon invited me to their Blog's first birthday party. It was lovely, meeting new people, eating cakes (homemade, may I add), and general chitchat. I went along knowing noone with only an email invite and a rough idea where I was going. I was so glad to go though, as I made lovely new people.

Kathleen (who has recipes for vegan cupcakes), Satu from Disco Nap, yours truely, and Amna from Disco Nap

Kathleen, Neoma from
TwentyTenEightyFour and I.

-You can trust some green food, like this lovely macaroon.

But you cannot trust something called a "Green Bomb".

However, you can always trust homemade cocktails (part mango, part vodka, part suga' syrup and party ice.. part party).

Who is for homemade cosmos?
Peace, fi xx
I have been so busy lately, there is a long list of things I want to write about.
Let's discuss high street mecca..
New Look.. (If you want a laugh, why don't you watch me acting like an eejit on the
Style Wars).
I was invited to the preview for the Spring Summer collection and it did not disappoint. And I am not going to even try to write about it, as the pictures do it far more justice than my poorly constructed sentences.

Now to wait for Christmas to be over..
Peace,
Fiona xx
Well, after trying to figure out logisitically how to draw a winner from our
SuperWickedAwesomeCompetition, we allocated numbers to peoples comments and followers.
Independent adjudicator Onya Bicycle chose the lucky winner.. who is...
Cliona.
Congratulations! Expect a lovely floral print package in the post!
Love from the SaveOurShoes Crew
Everyone who reads Grazia/Look/Elle or any other glossy will have come across one of these
pictures..
I tried find someone other than Audrina *coughsomeonebettercough* but she is wearing my favourite Wildfox Couture tee. I have been lusting after those tee's on ASOS (one of their main stockists) for months now! Anywho.
The lovely Carina from SelfServiceUK invited us SOS-er's to the Bloggers Wildfox Couture preview for S/S '10. I was the first of the bloggers and felt like the first kid at a birthday party, but this did not stop me from enjoying the clothes.
I loved the vintage look and feel of the materials used, it was all very indie-scenester. Which is very me.
<3>

The iconic one..

Vampire styley.
Bowie-baby...

But my favourite by far...

It reminded me so much of the trackie owned by Senior Topshop Buyer Rachel Proud.
Anyway, get thee online to their website (or Asos's Wildfox page.. or to Selfridges) before they all get sold out next year! * Apologies for sideways images, Photobucket dislikes me today*
Peace, fi xx

You heard em, head to Cork lovers. Out of all days and weekends, I'm heading off to London and NY on the 28
th of November. I mean, I know I'll get to go to their flagship Oxford Circus store & Soho store, but still. I'll be missing out on all the
Topshop shenanigans, and the delicious
O'Conaills. If anyone ever visits Cork,
O'Conaills hot chocolate is a MUST. I would have loved to have done some blog coverage too. If anyone heads there this weekend, updates & reports would be much appreciated!
And happy thanksgiving yankees!
xx-

Apologies for the lack of posting on SOS!. It seems that everytime I write here nowadays, I apolpgise. This is disgraceful on my behalf, I do realise that.
But anyway, in the spirit of the upcoming holidays, let's just all forget about it. I wish I had an interesting list of what I've been up to lately like Fi. Well, let's give it a go anyway. We'll start with the bad news:
- Cork has been affected by serious floods. This caused college and businesses to shut down since last week. So I am currently a refugee, and my dear friend Cathal from Pineapple Xpressed has been taking care of me since the event. I love you Cathal!
- I'm unfortunately super busy with college work. I know we all have work, but this is the main reason why I haven't been posting here.
- I wish I could save Luella. Show your support by adding a to your avatar now! -
Ok, now the good news:
- My final med ball was on last Friday. It was super fun. There were dresses.....some great, some good, some bad, some ugly. That's reality. I wore my flowy sheer black dress with flowery details purchased from La Vie en Rose at the Sunday Upmarket in Bricklane. Unfortunately there is no photographic evidence of the full outfit.
**EDIT** here's a photo!

On the far right, I'm wearing sheer dress from Le Vie en Rose, dress worn underneath from H&M, tights from Primark (Penneys), shoes from Miu Miu
- I'll be heading to London for a day next Saturday, followed by 2 weeks in NYC! Thinking about this trip is what's keeping me going with work. Oh, there will be some nice buys. I will see my fellow SOSer Fi for a day, yipee!
- I've been naughty doing some online shopping. I don't know if this falls in the good news category.
- Despite my absence, I've been up to date with all of you fellow bloggers! So don't you worry, I'm still a regular reader.
xx-LJ
I have been veggie for a few months now. So no more rare steak for me. But I do like
Rare dresses. I attended the press day last week with Reena, Ozzy and Kristabel for some Fashion blogger frolicks.
Let's talk dresses first.
I will admit, I was sceptical first of Rare dresses, after the collaboration with The Saturdays. I did enjoy seeing the band live, but I wouldn't exactly go out in one of their dresses. However, I went in with an open mind and clean nails. This press day did not disappoint. The gang from
ThinkPublicity were very welcoming, handed me a cocktail of my choice and were very friendly.
What I liked about the collection was...
The use of lace panelling...

Neurotica-esque shapes and prints...

Frills and such...

Floral print...

Minnie mouse dress...

Not only did I enjoy the collection, I got to get my nails done, courtesy of London Nails. Check out mine and Christabel's nails..

I left merrier, with a goody bag in my freshly painted nails and ready to chitchat with the world. UPDATE: Me being the klutz that I am, have already chipped my nails.
Peace, Fi xx
