I'll have my dress Rare..

I have been veggie for a few months now. So no more rare steak for me. But I do like Rare dresses. I attended the press day last week with Reena, Ozzy and Kristabel for some Fashion blogger frolicks.
Let's talk dresses first.
I will admit, I was sceptical first of Rare dresses, after the collaboration with The Saturdays. I did enjoy seeing the band live, but I wouldn't exactly go out in one of their dresses. However, I went in with an open mind and clean nails. This press day did not disappoint. The gang from ThinkPublicity were very welcoming, handed me a cocktail of my choice and were very friendly.
What I liked about the collection was...
The use of lace panelling...

Not only did I enjoy the collection, I got to get my nails done, courtesy of London Nails. Check out mine and Christabel's nails..I left merrier, with a goody bag in my freshly painted nails and ready to chitchat with the world. UPDATE: Me being the klutz that I am, have already chipped my nails.

Peace, Fi xx

Let me tell you about my window

Well you guys, my technology jinx continues to plague me wherever I go. My housemates have been in London for almost two whole months and we are STILL WAITING for broadband.
But c'est la vie.
But I'm making my americano last while I use wifi in a famous coffee establishment and will blog until the last dregs of cold coffee is taken out of my hands.
Let me tell you some news.
-I have not bought one thing in London yet, due to the terribly cruel thing that is paying rent/council tax in Central London.
-I walk past this window in an office for some graffic designers on the appropriately named "Fashion Street" on my way to work every morning. It says a lot to me.

-I made some great new people from the blogosphere.

And some other "friends".Liz and I
Me and Caprice.
Katie, Soph (as we call her now) and I
I made all these "friends" at the Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year awards. Other new bezzies include Gok, Vic Reeves and Vanessa Feltz.

-SaveOurShoes will be having a competition soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
-I am currently listening to a lot of Waaves, Theoretical Girl, The Flaming Lips, Sonny and the Sunsets and The Girls at Dawn.
-The Sophie Calle exhibition in WhiteChapel Gallery is very good. Bit pretentious, but I enjoy hipsterrunoff as much as the next indie art student kid.
-I am really good at making plum cobbler.Enjoy your weekends kids, pack the umbrellas as the forecast is bad.
Peace, fi xx

My good friend Jackie (*no relation to Joan)

This post has been a long time coming. It has been on the back burner for a while (mainly as I have been waiting for a picture from a friend but it has yet to arrive... he knows what I am talking about). Anyway, during my fun-filled summer, I spent occasional stints in my hometown of Midleton, Co. Cork, Ireland. If you know me, you will know I am NOT a massive fan of this little town. I have been mildly homesick for homecomforts, like family and friends, here in London, but if I could move a group them to London, this niggling feeling would be gone.
Midleton and I.. We don't really have anything in common. Except for Jackie Browne's Vintage Homeware and my awesome family.
Jackie is an absolute Legend. Hailing from Whitechapel (my new haunt) she tells incredible stories. But that is not the point of this post. The point is, if some day you drive through Midleton, stop on the Main Street and check out her shop.

I found vintage Prada there. Odhran got an amazing blue velvet blazer there. I want to dress my house with her furniture. I spent afternoons working with Jackie (ie talking men, vintage clothes, men, London).

I know some of our readers may never get the opportunity to see this shop, but I had to share it. And if our Irish readers do pass through Midleton, go in, tell her Fiona recommended the shop to you.

Peace, fi xx
